Does Monster Hunter Outlanders Have Controller Support?

Yes, Monster Hunter Outlanders has controller support at launch. The developers confirmed this news through the official launch dev preview that outlined all the features coming with the Monster Hunter Outlanders launch. However, the support for controllers is limited, and in this guide, you will find everything you are looking for about Monster Hunter Outlanders controller support.
Monster Hunter Outlander Controller Support Explained
The developers did confirm controller support, however, they said they made this decision based on community feedback and had very limited time to work on it. Therefore, they outline the parts of the game where Controllers will work:
| Game Area | Controller Support |
|---|---|
| Hunts | Yes |
| Quest system | Yes |
| World exploration | Yes |
| Other menus and systems | Not confirmed |
If you do not use a controller, the game has two touch control modes:
- Classic mode: Separate buttons for basic attack, Skills 1 to 3, roll, and sheath.
- Adventure mode: A simpler setup with three buttons: attack, react, and burst.
You can pick the one that suits you. Adventure mode is easier if you want fewer buttons on screen.
Which Controllers Work With Monster Hunter Outlanders?
The developers didn’t list the controllers that are compatible with Monster Hunter Outlanders. However, in the dev preview, they did show the Razer Kishi V3 controller attached to an iPhone 17 Pro Max.
One thing we are sure of is that at the time of launch, both iOS and Android will have controller support, and connecting the controller will work the normal way it does for other games.
Some details have not been shared yet:
- Whether menus, crafting, recruitment, and the shop work with a controller
- Whether controllers work in multiplayer
We will add these once the game is live and we can test it.
