Monster Hunter Outlanders Adventurers

Monster Hunter Outlanders is an upcoming mobile experience based on the Monster Hunter series. It launches on October 29, 2026. Monster Hunter Outlanders features playable characters known as Adventurers. At the time of launch, there will be nine Monster Hunter Outlanders Adventurers who will be split among different rarities, classes, elements, and weapon types.

How to Get Adventurers in Monster Hunter Outlanders

Monster Hunter Outlanders is a free-to-play Gacha game; therefore, the most basic way to get new characters will be through the gacha system. Apart from the gacha system, there will be various other ways to unlock Adventurers in Monster Hunter Outlanders:

• Events: Limited-time events will sometimes feature free Adventurers. I do expect a login event to give a free character as that is quite common in most gacha games at launch.
• Story Progression: Some Adventurers might be unlocked by progressing through the story; however, the name of the characters is not confirmed.
• Pre-Registration Rewards: Raya is currently available as a pre-registration reward, meaning players who registered before launch will receive her for free at launch.

All Adventurers by Class

There are currently three classes in Monster Hunter Outlanders, and every Adventurer belongs to one of them. Just like in any other game, classes generally determine what role each character has to play in a hunt.

• Assault is the damage class, and the characters belonging to this class excel at dealing damage, and their ultimate is more damage-focused than providing utility to the team.
• Disruptor characters focus on crowd control through traps, debuffs, and abilities that limit what the monster can do.
• Support Adventurers are focused on keeping the team alive through heals and buffs.

There is also a mechanic called the Ultimate Charge Cycle where using ultimates in the correct class order, Disruptor into Support into Assault, charges each subsequent ultimate for increased effectiveness. Building a squad that covers all three classes lets you run the full cycle and maximise your damage output.

All Adventurers by Weapon Type

The main-series Monster Hunter games usually feature fourteen core weapon types. However, at the time of launch, MH Outlanders will feature six weapon types and will probably add more later. All the confirmed weapon types are:

• Long Sword
• Dual Blades
• Bow
• Great Sword
• Heavy Bowgun
• Lance

Each Adventurer is locked to a single weapon type, and their move set varies depending on the character, even when two characters share the same weapon. Ouyang Varen and Arkaya both use the Lance, for example, but their skill sets and playstyles are completely different from each other.

All Adventurers by Element

There are five elements in Monster Hunter Outlanders. Elemental specialisation is one of the two most important factors to consider when building your squad alongside class. Each Adventurer has an elemental resonance, and pairing multiple Adventurers with the same element activates an elemental resonance bonus that boosts the damage of that element for your active character. Furthermore, monsters also have elemental weaknesses, and this Elemental damage comes into play in effectively carrying out the hunts. Here is a list of all the elements:
