When it comes to damage, Zankou, Lacrimosa, and Shinku are the best characters in NTE. Zankou in particular is a very flexible damage dealer, as she fits into DoT, break, and hyper carry teams. Shinku and Lacrimosa aren’t far behind as well; they are both equally strong in the current meta, especially in the late game. The biggest positive for Shinku, in my opinion, is that if any of the future patches bring Lakshana support, she will get really strong.

Coming to supports, I strongly feel Sakiri and Iroi are the strongest supports in the current meta. This is mainly because they can fit into most of the teams, and they don’t feel “pushed”. Lastly, Esper Zero is a core member of a lot of team compositions due to her instant cycling ability.

S+ Tier

Linko is definitely an S+ character in the current meta. She has great on-field and off-field damage. However, what really makes her great is that she buffs hexed damage for the team, and the numbers are significant. The only con I feel about her is that her full potential is locked behind dupes. Don’t get me wrong, even at A0 she is still pretty strong, but with A5 or A6 she is significantly stronger; this doesn’t stop me from putting her in S+ tier.

Zankou is one of the strongest characters available in version1.3. Her passive, Silent Sunset, keeps Scorch permanently active as long as DoT effects are applied to the target. Since applying DoT effects is natural to her kit, it gives Zankou one of the highest damage floors at zero awakenings. One more reason why I rank her so high is that, unlike a lot of other team comps, she doesn’t require Zero to be on her team, which opens an additional slot.

Lacrimosa is still one of the strongest on-field DPS in the game. Zankou’s release actually cements her position in S+ even further, as there are only a limited number of options for Scorch characters currently available.

Shinku remains firmly at the top. She is also expected to get stronger once a dedicated Lakshana support character is released.

Chaos is a consistent top-tier DPS whose main limitation is the absence of a Lakshana support character to pair with. Even with that constraint, you won’t feel that Chaos is underperforming. Therefore, the only issue with Chaos is the current available NTE roster rather than his own kit.

Sakiri and Iroi are the two universal T0 supports. Sakiri’s passive increases DoT damage taken by 25% per DoT type on the target. Since Zankou applies two DoT effects and Scorch counts as a third type, this reaches 75% additional damage on Scorch in a Zankou team. Iroi provides healing, survival, and the utility to slot into almost any composition regardless of element. Both are worth building regardless of which DPS team you are running.

Hotori is one of the most universally applicable characters in the game. She has serious personal damage at A0 and fits into virtually any team composition as a flex slot. Hotori also has one of the strongest ultimates in the game, as she can stop time to deliver a burst of free damage.

Haniel is the strongest dedicated Psyche buffer currently available. She provides Crit DMG through her awakening passives, off-field buffs, and enables Discord reactions as a Psyche character. In the previous patch, I would rank her S; however, with the introduction of Zankou, she has increased value in the current meta.

S Tier

Nanally stays in S-tier. Don’t get me wrong, Nanally is still a very strong DPS character that can easily clear the late-game content. However, with the addition of Iroi, she is no longer a priority pick in most team compositions. Linko’s release did open another team option for her; however, she stays in S-tier for now. .

Jiuyuan remains where she was before Linko’s release. She remains a core component of Blossom reaction teams alongside Nanally and Iroi. She is still effective in the right team context, but outside of Blossom teams, I feel she has a niche use.

A Tier

Chiz dropped from S+ to A in the last patch and there isn’t that much has happened to her with the release of Linko; therefore, I will keep her in A for now. She does okayish damage, and her kit takes advantage of charge reactions, but she does not synergize with other characters in a way that elevates the team around her. She remains a strong standalone option but has been overtaken by more flexible damage dealers.

Adler came back to A-tier last patch, driven largely by his role in Zankou’s break team. Equipped with the Great Thief Arc, he provides up to 70 Break Intensity to all Incantation characters on the team, which, in a Zankou, Sakiri, Adler composition, means all three characters benefit from the full passive.

Hathor is a flexible Lakshana support whose main use is enabling Chaos and Shinku team compositions. She is effective in that role at A0, but her value is tied closely to Lakshana team availability. Once a dedicated Lakshana support character is released, her role becomes less necessary.

Daffodill is one of only two Chaos characters in the game, making her a must-have for any Scorch-based team that does not use Lacrimosa. At A5, she enables Zankou’s break team with additional break damage instances through Insight stacks. Her ceiling in a high-investment break team is among the highest damage output available in the game.

Fadia is a Psyche Survival character who provides Nova enhancement synergy, off-field damage, and defensive support in Discord-based team compositions. She is a strong flex slot option when survivability is needed and contributes meaningfully to compositions built around Discord reactions.

B Tier

Skia fills a Lakshana DPS role with a specific niche in Shinku-adjacent compositions. He is not a core part of any of the team comps; however, you can slot Skia into a few team comps, and they might work decently. The main hiccup is that I feel he is not an endgame content character.

Baicang stays in B Tier. He has crowd control, Incantation element typing, and sees increased relevance in break-focused teams where Incantation characters benefit from Adler’s Great Thief Arc passive.

C Tier

Aurelia is a Psyche DPS whose team requirements force you to build around a Lakshana reaction that currently has limited support. Haniel and Fadia both does this job better than her while providing more value to the overall team and hence I feel Aurelia doesn’t deserver a higher spot.

Mint stays in C tier for me, especially after the introduction of Iroi. I’d rather pick Iroi for the Anima element, and when it comes to Anima DPS options, I will almost always prefer Nanally over Mint.

Edgar is a Cosmos Survival character who doesn’t really seem like a “must-have” in any team composition. His role in any team composition doesn’t feel impactful, and if you are using Edgar to apply an elemental reaction, I recommend you slot in Esper Zero or Hotori instead.
