NTE Akane Rin Build: Best Team Comps, Arc and Cartidges

Akane Rin is an S-rank Lakshana DPS added to the NTE character roster in Version 1.4 Phase 2, with the Phase 1 character being Blackbird.
She can switch between a single-target tether and an AoE field depending on what the current combat demands. Her passive permanently maintains Remora on affected targets once triggered, giving her strong solo damage and making her a standout option for Shinku and Remora-focused teams.
This guide covers the best build for Akane Rin in Neverness to Everness, including her skills, gear, and team compositions.

Akane Rin is the featured character on the 1.4 Phase 2 limited-time banner named “Dazzling Star”. Once this banner ends, Version 1.5 will begin, and I am not sure when a rerun banner for Akane Rin will go live. Therefore, if you want to add a Lakshana DPS character to your current team comp, you should consider pulling her now.

Best Arcs for Akane Rin in NTE
Akane Rin Arcs Recommendation
Far Side of the Moon (Best in Slot)Base ATK: 570 CRIT Rate: 48% Increases Crit Rate by 16/20/24/28/32%. Increases Redirect Skill DMG by 7/8.75/10.5/12.25/14% for 5s after the wearer's Basic Attack deals DMG. Stacks up to 4 times and can gain at most 1 stack every 0.3s. Increases Basic Attack DMG by 28/35/42/49/56% for 15s after the wearer casts a Redirect Skill. Increases the wearer's Lakshana DMG by 16/20/24/28/32% while both effects are active
The Last Rose (Best Altenative)Base ATK: 570 CRIT Rate: 24% Increases ATK by 14/17.5/21/24.5/28%. Grants 1 stack of Chaos Thorn each time the wearer deals DoT. Increases CRIT DMG by 6/7.5/9/10.5/12% per stack for 3s. Triggers at most once every 0.3s, up to 10 stacks and refreshes the duration when retriggered. Grants 10 stacks of Chaos Thorn immediately when the wearer casts a Redirect Skill. Extends the Broken state of a Broken enemy by 3s when the wearer deals damage to them (triggers at most once per Break Effect).
Fluff of FleetnessBase ATK: 512 CRIT DMG: 44 Increases 5/6/7/8/9% ATK every 1s while the wearer is the active character, up to 5 stacks. Resets when the wearer leaves the field.
Shiny Days (F2P)Base ATK: 475 ATK: 25% Increases Break Intensity by 48/57/66/75/84. Increases DMG by 10/12/14/16/18% against Broken unitsFar Side of the Moon is Akane Rin’s signature Arc, which makes it obvious that it is designed specifically for her kit. Hence, it is the best in-slot arc for Akane Rin. The 15% Crit Rate and 48% Crit DMG substats are excellent, and the passive’s 28% Redirect Skill damage and Basic Attack damage bonuses, combined with 20% Lakshana damage, activate every time she casts Rhythm Wave, giving them near-constant uptime throughout her rotation. Both her regular skill and Synced Resonance count as redirect skills, so the buff refreshes constantly.
The Last Rose is the best alternative for Akane Rin, especially when you are clearing multiple enemies. The Last Rose is the Signature weapon for Lacrimosa. Since Akane Rin and Lacrimosa do not have a common team as of now, you can use this arc interchangeably depending on what team you are currently playing. The Last Rose shares the same ATK stat as the signature weapon, and the Chaos Thorn stacks reach full value immediately whenever Akane uses her redirect skill, providing up to 60% Crit DMG at full stacks.
Akane Rin Cartridge Combination
| Set | Effect |
|---|---|
![]() Street Boxer | 2-PC: Lakshana DMG +10% 4-PC: Crit Rate +14%. Team triggering Remora or Stain increases the bonus to +14% for 20s (total +28%) |
In my opinion, Street Boxer is the best cartridge for Akane Rin and I feel that the only one I actually recommend using. When choosing a cartridge, I feel the best way is to match the 2-pc bonus to your character’s attribute.
On top of that the 28% Crit Rate from the 4-piece bonus activates through either Remora (from her own passive) or Stain (from Blackbird team comp), both of which Akane maintains consistently. Combined with Hathor’s 10% Crit Rate bonus during Remora, it becomes very easy to hit 80-85% Crit Rate without heavy substat investment, freeing you to run Crit DMG or Lakshana Damage as your cartridge main stat.
Akane Rin’s Type II Specialization gives her 16% ATK for each Type III Module equipped. With the Street Boxer layout, you can fit 2 additional Type III modules and 1 Type II module in the remaining console slots for a total of 40% free ATK.

x1For the cartridge main stat, use CRIT DMG when running Far Side of the Moon since the weapon already provides 15% Crit Rate. Lakshana Damage is the alternative and becomes more valuable at higher awakening levels as Akane accumulates more Crit DMG from A4 and Resonance effects. CRIT Rate main stat is viable if you’re using a weapon without Crit Rate and your module substats are lacking. For substats on both cartridges and modules, prioritize Crit Rate and Crit DMG first, then Universal Damage Bonus and Cycle Intensity. ATK% is still solid but slightly lower priority since Akane gets a large amount of free ATK from her Type III modules, team buffs, and her own ultimate passive.

A Cosmos character is required on every Akane Rin team to trigger the initial Remora for her Perfect Pitch passive to activate. Without Remora being triggered at least once, her passive deals no off-field damage, and she loses a significant portion of her total contribution.
How to Play Akane Rin
Akane Rin is an on-field DPS whose main damage comes from her Basic Attacks, which are buffed by her Overtone tether or Reverb Field, with burst windows through Synced Resonance whenever String Energy hits 30. Compared to some recent character release her combos and gameplay is quite simple to understand as she doesn’t have a lot of complex mechanics:
Choosing Your Skill Form
Use the Press version of Rhythm Wave (Overtone tether) in single-target boss scenarios. This links Akane to one enemy and relays all her basic attacks to them regardless of distance, including when the boss is airborne or moving. Use the Hold version of Rhythm Wave (Reverb Field) when fighting multiple enemies. This creates an AoE zone and simultaneously damages all enemies inside whenever Akane attacks.
Remember that only one form can be active at a time. Casting either one replaces the other, and they share the same cooldown.
Building and Spending String Energy
You will notice a music wave-like symbol at the bottom of your screen while playing Akane Rin. This is the String energy and can be built through all of Akane’s attacks. However, the most important attack is her fourth basic attack, as it generates 6 String Energy and deals the most damage. So make sure you never interrupt her combo before the fourth hit lands.
Since Dodge, while holding, resets your combo to the first hit, the best way to use her basics is to button-mash. This will make sure your combo isn’t getting cancelled. You can also dash-cancel the third basic attack to quickly skip to the fourth, trading a small amount of damage for faster String Energy generation.
Once String Energy hits 30 with either Overtone or Reverb Field active, use Synced Resonance (enhanced Redirect Skill). This deals massive single-target or AoE damage depending on which form is active and consumes all 30 String Energy. Akane becomes invincible during this animation, making it a safe window to spend. A fast setup to reach 30 String Energy is: Skill > Support Skill > Basics 2 and 4, which fills the gauge in minimal time.
Using the Ultimate
Sonic Boom has two parts. The first cast deals AoE Lakshana damage and activates your 20% ATK buff from Starlit Anthem, so use this at the start of your damage rotation. The second cast becomes available 4 seconds later and can be used at any point before Solo Cadenza ends. Use it when convenient, but avoid casting it mid-combo if it would interrupt your basic attack four. Do not let Solo Cadenza expire without using the second cast, as it disappears automatically.

A4: Headphone StaticIncreases Akane Rin’s Crit DMG by 30% for 15s after casting Synced Resonance.
A5: Rehearsal ClickIncreases the DMG Ratio bonus for Basic Attacks relayed by Overtone to 64%. Increases the DMG bonus for Basic Attacks relayed by Reverb Field to 90%.
A6: Front-Row SupernovaStarlit Anthem additionally grants Akane Rin 16% DEF ignore.A2 is the best awakening since it gives Akane a permanent 12% Lakshana resistance reduction as long as Overtone or Reverb Field is active, which should be the entire fight.
A4 gives near-permanent 30% Crit DMG since Synced Resonance is used constantly. A6 adds 16% DEF ignore to her already-active ATK buff. A3 and A5 improve her relay damage scaling and add AoE pull to her hold skill. A1 is last since it only improves survivability, not damage output.

Beetle Coin25,000Should You Pull for Akane Rin?
Akane Rin is a limited character featured on the current NTE banner. These limited characters do get a featured rerun but the rotation is never certain, so if you like her playstyle and character design you should pull for her. However here is a much more detailed breakdown if you should pull for Akane Rin in NTE.
Reasons to Pull for Akane:
- Akane is a really strong and flexible Lakshana DPS, and she performs well even at A0.
- Her biggest strength is the permanent Remora application from her passive and the ability to deal damage at long range.
- She is extremely viable in both single-target and AoE content because of her kit.
- If you have invested in characters such as Blackbird, Hathor, Zero, Linko, and Shinku, you should definitely pull for her as she synergises well with these characters.
Reasons to Not Pull for Akane
- This is not really a limitation; however, Akane has a significant power gap at A0 and Resonance 3. So if you are planning not investing in her in the future and keep her at A0, she will perform well but there will be a huge difference between her complete potential and what you have.
- Skip Akane if your Chaos team is your priority roster.
