Chaos Zero Nightmare currently has 39 playable characters, which are divided between 5-star and 4-star rarities. On top of rarities, every character in CZN belongs to a class that somewhat defines their role in a team comp and an attribute that affects damage interactions.

Classes

Currently there are six classes in CZN, and they affect the roster in mainly two ways. The first one is that promotion materials are linked to the character class, and the second one affects Partner selection, as equipping a Partner whose class matches their combatant’s class activates a class-specific bonus.

Attributes

Apart from classes, another thing that affects the choice of character is attributes. Right now, there are five attributes in Chaos Zero Nightmare: Instinct, Void, Passion, Justice, and Order. Attributes have a direct impact on damage output. Just like most other games, if the enemy’s weakness matches the combatant’s attribute, the combatant deals increased damage and generates more tenacity damage.

Factions

Lastly, characters in CZN can also be categorized by Factions. This is more of a lore-based concept where specific characters have certain organizational affiliations. It mainly reflects a character’s background and doesn’t really have any gameplay effect.

How to Get Characters in Chaos Zero Nightmare

You can obtain characters in Chaos Zero Nightmare through the gacha system by using the in-game currency. There are two types of banners:

• Limited Banners: These feature specific characters for a limited period.
• Standard Banners: These run permanently and cover the base roster.

Pulling duplicate copies of a character unlocks Ego Manifestation levels, which upgrade their stats and abilities. This makes duplicates useful rather than wasted.
