GTA 6 Protagonists: Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos

GTA 6 will have two playable protagonists named Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. The pair are settled in Vice City and the wider Leonida region. Lucia and Jason share a romantic partnership in GTA 6, and here is everything you need to know about them.

Who Are the GTA 6 Protagonists?

GTA 6 splits its story between Jason and Lucia (two of its protagonists). From the Netflix extended look, GTA 6 trailers, and their character description on the official website, they sound like two very different people with different personalities. However, both of them have one thing in common, and that’s their goal of pursuing a better life.

Jason is already rooted into the criminal underworld of the Leonida keys while Lucia is starting over fresh after her prison sentence.

Jason’s Story and Relations

Jason grew up surrounded by crime and spent most of his teenage years getting into trouble. However, Jason did try to mend his ways with a stint in army; however that didn’t last long.

By the time GTA 6 begins, Jason is back in Leonida Keys doing drug runs for a veteran smuggler named Brian Heder. In exchange, Brian lets Jason live rent-free on his properties. This arrangement makes it harder for the GTA 6 protagonist to get out of the crime world.

Jason has a best friend named Cal Hampton, who works alongside him as a fellow associate of Brian. But, Cal has a passive contribution as he is responsible for monitoring Coast Guard communications. So where Jason is a field work guy, Cal mostly works from home in GTA 6.

It hasn’t been confirmed how Lucia and Jason meet in GTA 6. However, according to the official GTA 6 website, Jason considers meeting Lucia a turning point in his life. However, it is not clear what effect it will have on his life.

He wants an easier life but keeps finding himself deeper in situations that complicate that goal.

Lucia’s Story and Relations

GTA 6’s first female protagonist, Lucia, grew up in Liberty City. Liberty City has been shown in previous editions of GTA series as well. While growing up Lucia was taught how to fight from an early age. Even according to the extended Netflix trailer, it seems like she really excels at hand to hand combat as in one of the scene she loses her gun and Jason tells her then this is right up her job description.

Lucia mostly handles her problems with violence, which is also the reason for her imprisonment at Leonida Penitentiary in the mid-2020s. However, the exact specific crime hasn’t been confirmed.

One thing that we do know about is that Lucia shares the same goal as Jason, and she considers her release from prison an opportunity to make her life better. Lucia is working towards her mother’s vision of a stable life, and she feels Jason is one part that will help her get there.

I will keep updating this guide further as I get to know more about Lucia and Jason’s story.
