Which Devil Fruit Is Better in Fortnite Treasure Hunters Season?

The One Piece collab has been one of the most requested collabs for both Fortnite and One Piece fans. And the collab came in the best way possible, as Fortnite brought it in the form of a mini-season named “Treasure Hunters”.
To make it even better and more interesting for the players, Fortnite’s One Piece collab adds two mythic Devil Fruits, the Gum-Gum Fruit and the Flame-Flame Fruit. Consuming either of these Devil Fruits will turn you into either Luffy or Ace, and both fruits have their own sets of powers based on the actual anime. However, after playing through the season, I felt that both of these are not equally efficient, so here is which Devil Fruit is better in Fortnite and which one you should choose.
All Devil Fruit Abilities in Fortnite
As of November 6, 2026, there are only two Devil Fruits in the Fortnite Treasure Hunters season named Gum-Gum Fruit and Flame-Flame Fruit. I am not sure if more Devil Fruits will be added later during the season, however, here are the abilities of all the existing ones Devil Fruits n Fortnite

Which Devil Fruit Is Better in Fortnite: Gum-Gum Fruit or Flame-Flame Fruit?
I have played several matches in this latest season and have tried both Devil Fruits multiple times. So if I had to pick between the Gum-Gum Fruit and the Flame-Flame Fruit, I would almost always pick the Flame-Flame Fruit.
Don’t get me wrong here, I have several reasons for it:
- Personally, I prefer playing an aggressive game, and when I build my Fortnite loadout, I always have the late game in mind. That said, the DPS of the Flame-Flame Fruit is much higher than that of the Gum-Gum Fruit in Fortnite. The alt attack from the Flame-Flame Fruit especially deals massive damage.
- Secondly, the Flame-Flame Fruit doesn’t run out of ammo, making it an efficient pick as it reduces your dependency on loot.
- Lastly, the Treasure Hunters map is not that big, and going around is not that hard. I do understand that there are limited mobility items in this season; however, I feel that even if you don’t have one, you won’t be missing out on anything. I would rather suggest that you focus on damage items.
On the contrary, if you are the kind of player who tends to take it slow till the late game and prefers moving around the edges or with the zone, you can make complete use of the Gum-Gum Fruit as well. It will help you play safer. So there is no definitive answer to which Devil Fruit is better; however, if I really had to pick one, it would be the Flame-Flame Devil Fruit.
How to Get Devil Fruits in Fortnite?
Both fruits show up on the map and HUD when they spawn, and every player in the lobby gets the alert, so it is a race. Grab one, then select it in your inventory to eat it.
